Hello and welcome to MMOZ. I’m Andrew, creator of The Make Money Online Zone. Today we are venturing into a hot debate that has been going on for some time.
Solo Build It Vs Wealthy Affiliate! The question of who is best and who offers the best service has been going on for some time.
Today we are going to look at both sides of the story as well as giving you the chance to have your say. Do you have any personal experience with either SBI or Wealthy Affiliate? If so, we welcome your honest opinion at the end of this post.
Solo Build It Vs Wealthy Affiliate – Let’s Bring You Up To Speed
Both Solo Build It and Wealthy Affiliate offer very similar online services. Both sites offer training that is geared towards creating an ethical online business. Unlike many scams and get rich quick schemes that we see all the time, both Solo Build It and Wealthy Affiliate have stood the test of time and have proven to produce real results.
So it’s no wonder that a bit of a debate started some time ago as to who offers the best service.
As with any successful membership site, there will always be loyal followers. And this is certainly the case with Solo Build It and Wealthy Affiliate. But one thing that has really added fuel to this fire is the fact that Ken Envoy, the founder of Site-Sell and Solo Build It, has written his own review of Wealthy Affiliate. As you can imagine, Ken’s review very much points out the pro’s of joining Solo Build It and some of negative aspects of Wealthy Affiliate. Never the less, Ken brings up some great points in his review.
In this article we are going to look at both sides of the argument so that you can hopefully come to your own conclusion.
What Are The Main Differences Between SBI And WA
In terms of training both of these sites are geared to helping you to create a successful online business. Both sites encourage very ethical methods of creating and monetizing online “content”. Don’t expect any get rich quick stories from these services, both sites are the real deal! There is no question that Solo Build It and Wealthy affiliate offer a quality service that has led many people to success. I think the fact that both memberships have created so many success stories is fantastic. But how do you choose between them?
I was a member of SiteSell myself a few years ago when it was then known as Site Build It. Since then the site has been updated and renamed to Solo Build It. I left the membership because I was struggling to design a website that looked the way that I wanted it to. I think it’s fair to say that the sites produced by Site Build It looked a bit outdated back then. Since then Solo Build It has incorporated the use of WordPress into its building system, just like Wealthy Affiliate. In my opinion this was a much needed change.
Free Vs Upfront Payment
One thing that might also be a welcome change to SBI is the fact that Wealthy Affiliate offer a free lifetime starter membership, where Solo Build It requires an upfront payment. Solo Build It say there is no risk as you get a full 90 days to test out their membership with a full money back guarantee. Wealthy Affiliate on the other hand offer you a free membership that lets you see what you are getting into before upgrading to their premium service.
Another big difference between the two memberships is the fact that you only get one website per membership with Solo Build It, where Wealthy Affiliate allow you to build up to 50 sites on their hosting at no extra charge.
The Opinion Of A Current Member
I believe the best way to get a good opinion is to get the opinion of someone who is a member of both SBI and WA. Fortunately, we found one over at Wealthy Affiliate and he confirmed our thoughts.
Nigel Chua is a current member of both Solo Build It and Wealthy Affiliate. Nigel confirmed to us that both of these memberships are indeed very valuable. In an article published on the Wealthy Affiliate website, Nigel states how he has created a successful business based on the training he received with SBI. However, he joined Wealthy Affiliate as he also wanted to create a profitable affiliate site.
Here’s what Nigel had to say…
I built a successful 6-figure client-generation website for my physiotherapy business in Singapore that works day in day out on autopilot. And that was amazing. Still is. At least 10% of all my revenue was patients finding us through google from our SBI website.
SBI worked really well for me for that. But of course, I built the website and added articles over the years since 2010, and have amassed a sort of monster niche site, scoring more than 500+ articles at this point in writing.
But I struggled because I wanted to build affiliate websites, and all my SBI affiliate sites didn’t work.

The Ken Envoy’s Wealthy Affiliate Review
It’s fair to say that both sides of the argument are presented in the article above. On the other hand it’s quite clear from the Ken Envoy’s review of Wealthy Affiliate that he really isn’t a fan. This of course is quite understandable as both memberships are very similar in many ways and are in direct competition with each other. But as with any debate, it’s important to listen to both sides of the story…
Ken Envoy, the founder of Site-Sell and Solo Build It published a review of Wealthy Affiliate some time ago. The review compared both memberships and concluded that members of SBI were more likely to succeed that with Wealthy Affiliate. A lot of the points that Ken made were very good, but he is obviously trying to protect his own business as the owners of Wealthy Affiliate would.
Here is a brief summary of Ken Envoy’s Wealthy Affiliate review.
As you can see, Ken accuses some Wealthy Affiliate members of producing “fake reviews” which are designed to direct visitors away from SBI and over to the Wealthy Affiliate membership. Ken then goes on to say that SBI members are up to 33 times more likely to achieve “outstanding” results.
Now that’s quite a claim, but Ken does go on to justify the points that he makes.
Introducing Marcus… From The “Make Money With Marcus” Website
Please allow me to introduce you to a really cool member of the Wealthy Affiliate community. Like ourselves, Marcus wanted to do a fair analysis of what Ken Envoy claimed in his review. You can check out what Marcus had to say in the video below.

Marcus makes some great points here and focuses on both sides of the argument.

Solo Build It Vs Wealthy Affiliate – What Do We Think At MMOZ?
I think its fair to say that both Solo Build It and Wealthy Affiliate offer a great service. It’s quite clear that both memberships have produced some really good success stories and this battle between who is best will probably go on for a very long time. But there are a few points that I would like to offer my opinion on in reply to what Ken Envoy said in his Wealthy Affiliate review.
Some Wealthy Affiliate members write negative reviews just so that they can funnel traffic to their Wealthy Affiliate review.
This is a fair point from Ken. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I can understand how annoying it must be to receive a really bad review when your product is actually very good. Unfortunately, you will always find that some people will offer an opinion without knowing the full facts. It would seem that some Wealthy Affiliate members have indeed posted negative reviews about SBI that might not show the full truth.
Wealthy Affiliate members are encouraged to “waste time” by posting content to Wealthy Affiliate itself.
Another completely valid point from Ken. However, there are certainly benefits of posting to Wealthy Affiliate and I don’t really see the process as being a waste of time. Posting content to WA is a great way to communicate with other like-minded members of the community. Its a way to share your progress and to get the opinion of other people. It’s something that keeps the Wealthy Affiliate community in touch with each other.
Ken is right in saying that some people do post motivational posts and some people appear to waste a lot of time doing it. But at the end of the day, it’s up to the individual member how they spend their time.
The Free Wealthy Affiliate membership and free Wealthy Affiliate sites will not lead to success.
This is not true! I totally disagree with Ken on this one. I actually started out in affiliate marketing using nothing but free websites. It is very possible to get started online using nothing but free resources and I am proof of that. Wealthy Affiliate offer a service where people can try their hand at building an affiliate site for nothing. This is great for those people who aren’t sure if online marketing is for them.
You cant get a refund from Wealthy Affiliate.
Again, this is simply not true. The refund rate at Wealthy Affiliate is VERY low. This is mainly due to the fact that people know exactly what they are getting before they join the premium membership. However, on the odd occasion that a member wants a refund, there is no problem.
Solo Build It websites are more successful that Wealthy Affiliate websites.
Although the way that Ken Envoy has come to this conclusion is very cleverly done, I still don’t think it proves a great deal. Ken says that through extensive analysis they have determined that Solo Build It websites get more traffic than Wealthy Affiliate websites. But this still doesn’t prove that SBI is better than WA. Solo Build it websites might be getting more traffic than Wealthy Affiliate sites. This could well be due to the fact that Wealthy Affiliate teach you how to “targeted” traffic rather than traffic in large volumes that doesn’t convert.
Solo Build It Vs Wealthy Affiliate – Final Verdict
I think that there will always be dedicated fans of SBI and Wealthy Affiliate. The question of which site is best is really down to the individual as there are clearly good and bad points within each membership. The fact that some Wealthy Affiliate members have published negative reviews about SBI without knowing the full facts is not great. But then in return, Ken Envoys review of Wealthy Affiliate wasn’t entirely factual either. I would call the battle of Solo Build It Vs Wealthy Affiliate a draw!
I have been a member of both SBI and Wealthy Affiliate. Having left Site Build It some time ago for my own reasons, I am now fan of the WA training. I know that the training in Wealthy Affiliate works because I’ve had personal experience of that. I also know that Solo Build It gets the job done too. So I think it basically comes down to personal preference.
